Immerse yourself in an unforgettable evening in which creativity, music and all forms of art collide with Scottish social history and culture. Our artists are showcasing new artworks inspired by Scotland, and our musician writes and preforms traditional Scottish music, perfect for this. Wander through the historic barn at Cormiston Farm with every detail decorated to celebrate Scotlands rich social history and let the sound of live music guide you through the space towards the bar where you can enjoy delicious food and Scottish themed cocktails.

Our Artists

Be among the first to witness the extraordinary talent of new and up-and-coming artists Jenny Mowat and Emma Milligan as they host the first ever Art After Dark event in Biggar! They will present their latest works inspired by Scottish heritage such as the famous Herring Girls of the Scottish coasts. Their works consist of Printmaking, Fibre Art, Dye Making, Book Binding and so much more.

This will not only be a night to remember but a unique and one of a kind event that Biggar has not seen before.

Educational Insights and Displays

Explore information boards and equipment demonstrations to understand the intricate processes behind the artworks. Gain a deeper appreciation for the craft and techniques that Emma and Jenny use to create their art. They will be showing a wide range of materials that they on a day-to-day basis and sharing the skills they have been learning over the past few years.

Learn about the social history of Scotland, such as the famous Herring Girls who were a vital part of Scotlands fishing industry. Just one example of what inspired these young artists to create works of art that have never been seem before.

Alongside our young artists you can discover live music from a talented young musician carefully selected to complement the artistic atmosphere. Charlotte Henry is an exceptional musician who started her journey in music at a young age, inspired by her dad and has continued thier love for music. For one night only she is coming to Biggar to show off her skills and musical talent. Come to Art After Dark to support Charlotte venture, and for the first time see her perform live as part of Biggar Little Festival.

At Art After Dark, we will create a fun filled night for all who come and the custom-built, rustic bar at Cormiston Farm will do just that. Be it a specially made Scottish themed cocktail, a perfectly brewed beer or Cormiston Farm's famous mocktails, we insure there will be something for your taste pallet. Be it the finest whiskey, or Biggars very own gin, we will have it waiting for you at Art After Dark.
