Immerse yourself in an unforgettable evening in which creativity, music and all forms of art collide with Scottish social history and culture. Wander through a historic barn on the outskirts on Biggar decorated with captivating art installations by local and young artists. Let the sound of live music guide you through the space towards the bar where you can enjoy delicious food and drink and soak in the vibrant culture, community and art.

Jenny Mowat

Featured Artist

Meet the winner of the Glasgow Print Prize at Art After Dark. Jenny is a practising printmaker, learning and developing the ways of screen and lino printing at Glasgow Print Studio. She uses social history for inspiration such as the Herring girls and finds great motivation in researching Scotlands rich history.

As the co-host of Art After Dark, Jenny promises a night of Art, Drinks and thought provoking perspectives.

Emma Milligan

Featured Artist

As a First Class Honour Graduate and Art Foundation Award recipient, Emma has thrown herself into exploring art in all its forms. Her work starts long before creating a final piece, making her own mediums, such as, dye, ink, paint and oil pastels using plants and natural materials found in the Scottish countryside. 

Emma being a co-host of Art After Dark allows viewers to immerse themselves within the methods of making from scratch and everything that is not perceived on the finished piece. This is your chance to see it for yourself, to gain a deeper understanding of the invisible arts.

Drinks from the Bar

At Cormiston Farm there is a wide variety of drinks available at the custom build bar. Signature cocktails, a wide selection of high shelf Whiskeys and Biggar's very own Gin. After sipping a dram, you can munch on some nibbles while you take in the art and music.

Live Music Performances

Enhance your artistic journey with a vibrant atmosphere created by live musical performances throughout the evening. Enjoy the sounds of young Scottish talent.

Creative Practice and Methods

At Art After Dark you won't just get to see the artworks, but understand the process behind each piece. Our featured artists will be showing their techniques and turning this exhibition in to something Biggar has never seen before. All pieces of artwork that will be installed in the historic barn have been made specificly for this event and this is your chance to be among the first to see everything on offer.
